Headphones Are the New Headband
With the invention of the iPod (and those legendary silhouette ads), there was a time when headphones simply disappeared into the ears—white buds replacing the gigantic earmuffs frequently worn by DJs. But from the booth at the club to the backstage arena, extra-large versions have staged a significant comeback. Perhaps its because they prevent models’ hair from flopping in their faces while they get their makeup done and, more important, drown out the chatter and camera clicks during those early call times. With designer collabs—like the forthcoming one seen here between Skullcandy and Adam Selman (fitting, seeing as he’s the man behind many of Rihanna’s custom tour looks)—this functional hair accessory is looking more fashionable than ever.
